This is an amazing and beautiful picture! I ran across it a few months ago checking out tech stuff and what not over at Digg.com. When I ran across it again today, doing research on Energy and Power for school (college), I thought I’d post it up. The photo was taken in Chile and is that of rising lava from an erupting volcano clashing with a powerful lightning array overhead.
The sky is reflected in a drop of water.
Beautiful scenery!

A man-made sun rising over Bikini Atoll on March 1, 1954. This photo, taken from” 50 miles” away, is of a 15-Megaton hydrogen blast called “Bravo”, which was the largest nuke tested by the U.S.
The Northern Lights as seen from space … amazing!
“LG-118A Peacekeeper” missile system being tested at the Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.
The lines shown are the re-entry vehicles entering the atmosphere. One Peacekeeper can hold up to 10 nuclear warheads, each independently targeted.
